The strategic review framed the real problem as scale beyond founder capacity, without exposing private financial data.

Doug Manuel runs Beats As One — a collective drumming experience with a documentary film behind it. In a founder-backed strategic mandate, my job was to turn an unfinished film and an embodied workshop into a platform story that investors and partners could evaluate — and to build its public front door. The work produced investor-ready assets; it does not claim that capital was raised.
The numbers
What the work covered.
Connected the available workshop and film material into one coherent partner narrative.
dougmanuel.com from scratch: positioning, offer architecture, visuals, UX/UI, development, deployment, and integrations.
Claude, ChatGPT, AI agents, n8n, Instantly, HubSpot, and Lovable/Vercel workflows put into real research and outreach.
The situation
A powerful experience that resisted explanation.
What happens in a Beats As One room is embodied and collective — rhythm, belonging, a founder story rooted in Senegal. That is exactly what makes it hard to fund: investors and partners need language, structure, and a business logic they can evaluate without being in the room. The film was unfinished, the delivery model had reached a capacity ceiling, and the value lived mostly in Doug's own delivery.
The task was to keep the human core intact while giving the platform a proposition, a public presence, and an operating layer that didn't depend on the founder doing everything by hand.
What I did
From raw material to a fundable platform.
01 · Investor narrative
Clarify the project for people who might fund it.
I read the operating history as a diagnosis: promising demand alongside founder-led delivery meant the constraint was capacity beyond one person. That reframing turned a "nice experience" into an investable scaling problem, backed by a strategic report and a multi-format model of how the platform could earn.
02 · Preserve the method
Keep what happens in the room while making it scalable.
A platform needs sequence, language, and business-readable material, but none of that can flatten the live experience. I worked from the facilitation itself outward — so the structure supported the method rather than replacing it.
03 · Public website
Build the front door — dougmanuel.com — from scratch.
Companies, investors, and new audiences needed to understand the offer quickly without over-explaining the magic. I built the site end to end: positioning, offer architecture, visuals, UX/UI, development, deployment, and integrations.

04 · Identity & operating stack
Give the platform a system and a faster engine.
A brand book created a shared language for outreach and investor decks. Alongside it, five months of AI and automation work — Claude, n8n, HubSpot, Instantly, Lovable/Vercel — turned manual research and outreach into repeatable systems the small team could actually run.

What it changed
A founder-led experience with a platform's spine.
- The pitch shifted from "a great workshop" to a scaling problem investors could size and back.
- A public website gave partners, companies, and audiences a single place to understand and buy in.
- A brand system gave outreach and investor material one consistent voice.
- An AI and automation layer let a small team research and reach out at a pace it couldn't before.
