This chapter shows a slower, more precise kind of communication. The work was to understand Jean Royère's design language, object families, materials, provenance, and auction context — then write with the restraint a high-trust collector market demands.

The context and the reference stack.
A 2023 market source read alongside auction records to calibrate the language accurately.
A catalogue plus provenance records grounded every description in real design history.
The story
In luxury, over-selling weakens trust.
Jean Royère is a 20th-century French designer whose pieces trade as collector assets. Writing about them means starting with research — designer, period, material, construction, form, and market references — and then choosing restraint over persuasion. The value lives in accuracy: proportion, origin, and rarity stated precisely, without pressure.
My role was research and product-description writing, not sales — so the claims here are about editorial judgment, not transaction ownership.
What I did
Research first, then write with restraint.
01 · Understand the object
Read the piece before writing the piece.
Each description began with period source material, design history, and material study — the context a high-trust collector market expects before a single adjective is chosen.

02 · Write and anchor value
Anchor value in provenance.
Catalogue extracts and auction records helped calibrate the language around form, provenance, and rarity without turning the description into a sales pitch. Restraint is the signal of credibility.
